Maintaining a long distance marriage isn't easy and it can have it's benefits such as,
- Both partners will be as committed as the other. This should prove to you that you have found a great partner.
- You will learn to be more independent, whilst still being in a relationship, which is something that others who see their partner daily may not have learned.
- You don’t always have to have good days. Plus, you won’t be able to see your partner every day, so if you are having a bad day you won’t have to feel too bad for not seeing them.
- You should get more and more excited to see each other after some time apart and should cherish each other even more.
Avoid Excessive Communication
Try not to become too overbearing and constantly try and get in touch with your partner. Communicate naturally, just like you normally would, and don’t worry about constantly being in contact as it just does not happen, and that is normal in any relationship.

To get an idea of what your husband goes through while he’s over the road I would consider riding along on a trip with him to see what life on the road is really like. This will expose you to the diverse environments and situations that your husband has to put up with on a daily basis.
Life on the road as an independent truck driver surely has its challenges. In order for your marriage to work you will need to build a strong foundation with lots of communication. Love and support each other in reality you both will leave to different lives, although when you reconnect you will have a unique love that is strong and a communication that no one can tear apart. Trust, have faith and communicate!
Repeat often:
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
