Truck Driver- How to Prepare your Wife for First Over -The –Road Trip



Just the thought of stepping out into the Trucker Industry can send shivers down the spine of even the most independent wife. As a husband, you may feel helpless but you are not. There are some simple things that you can do that will make the first trip over the road easier on your wife.

 Take your wife to the office with you, this will give her the opportunity to get to know the staff, and take a tour of the trucking environment. You never know if she will need to call the office, this way she will have an idea who she is communicating with.

 Spend as much time together as you possibly can, before you are expected to leave out. This way you can spend a little alone time to talk and know what is expected of each other during your time away on the road.

 If you were the one balancing the monthly bills, explain to her how things were done and help her create a way that is comfortable for her to handle your expense.

 If your wife is in a city alone “like I am” encourage her to get out in meet other people and to get involve in some projects of her own if she doesn’t work already , so she want fall into depression, or become to lonely.

 Make time to call her when you are on the road, or just send a, thinking about you card, or I love you text. Never get off the telephone mad, always end your conversation by telling each other you love them and can’t wait to see them.

 Take the time to listen to your wife’s fears and give her honest advice, never brush this off as “You’ll be fine.” Be concern and make her feel as confident and loved as possible.
